Speaking on agriculture and fishing, UKIP Highlands & Islands member, Philip Anderson gave this statement:
"Agriculture is in a state of uncertainty with Brexit negotiations going on behind closed doors in Westminster and Brussels, the outcome of which will have to be adhered to by the devolved administrations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. A lot of details in relation to agriculture and fisheries are being kept secret.
European and British Agriculture have been encouraged by governments to increase industrial production, which is detrimental to traditional hill farming methods, worsened by the implementation of ever increasing EU environmental regulations in our hills and uplands.
Of much more concern for Scottish Agriculture is how much control Westminster will give to the SNP Scottish Government. It is well documented how the SNP acquiesce with all Brussels regulations and directives in every respect, in their false 'Independence in the EU' mantra."
Philip Anderson went on to say that "only Brexit with British Governance can return farming to common sense", maintaining that agriculture and fishing should be a UK matter after Brexit.
